Hermann Ibkendanz wurde am 9. Mai 1933 von der NSDAP verhaftet und im (fr\u00fchen) Konzentrationslager Osthofen inhaftiert. Zuvor war er f\u00fcr die SPD Mitglied des Stadtrates Worms und Gewerkschaftsvorsitzender. Die Verhaftung f\u00fchrte zu seiner Entlassung aus dem Eisenbahndienst, eine Wiedereinstellung wurde im NS-Regime (zun\u00e4chst) systematisch verhindert. Auch der Ausbildungsweg seines Sohnes sowie die berufliche T\u00e4tigkeit seiner Frau wurden durch seine Verfolgung beeinflusst.
